What This Guide Covers

This page explains best-practice handling for lyophilised peptides, including storage, sterile technique, reconstitution basics, vial safety, and common mistakes to avoid. The goal is consistency, sterility, and stability.

Reconstitution Guide

Most peptides are supplied as freeze-dried powder (lyophilised). This improves shelf life and stability during shipping. Once liquid is added, the product becomes more sensitive to heat, light, and contamination.

Powder is fragile — do not shake.

Reconstitution simply means adding bacteriostatic water to the vial so the peptide can be accurately measured and used.

  1. 1. Clean the rubber stopper on both vials with alcohol and allow to dry
  2. 2. Draw bacteriostatic water into a syringe
  3. 3. Insert the needle into the peptide vial and let the water run slowly down the inside wall
  4. 4. Do not blast water directly onto the powder
  5. 5. Gently swirl or roll the vial until fully dissolved

Do Not

  • - Shake the vial
  • - Heat the vial
  • - Inject air aggressively

Storage Guidelines

Before reconstitution:

Store in fridge or freezer for long-term storage.

After reconstitution:

Refrigerate unless otherwise stated. Avoid temperature fluctuations.

If a product has been left unrefrigerated against guidance or exposed to heat, potency may be compromised.
